Our organisation and approach

We manage three operational biogas plants, our own logistics company, and an in-house service organization. This integrated structure allows us to control the entire chain from raw materials to end product with maximum efficiency and full oversight of quality and continuity.

We combine deep technical expertise with a pragmatic, results-driven way of working. By intentionally keeping our organization compact, we maintain short communication lines and can respond quickly when needed. The working environment within SFP Group is informal yet professional: a place where craftsmanship, commitment, and collaboration take centre stage.

With more than 350 years of combined experience, our team brings a strong foundation of knowledge that we apply to realizing sustainable, future-proof projects with minimal impact on people, animals, and the environment.

SFP approach: DBOOM

We keep every step of the process in our own hands through our DBOOM approach. We design, build, operate, and maintain all our projects ourselves. This ensures consistent quality, operational continuity, and full control from the initial concept through to day-to-day management.

Niels Peters & Erik Brouwer

About our founders

SFP Group was founded in 2020 by Niels Peters and Erik Brouwer, with a clear mission: to accelerate the energy transition by scaling up green gas production.

Niels Peters brings extensive experience in the biogas industry and holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business & Management. Prior to founding SFP Group, he worked in the sector for many years and played a key role in the development of the current SFP Zeeland green gas plant in Westdorpe. This hands-on experience inspired him and laid the foundation for establishing SFP Group, where he now applies his expertise and vision to deliver sustainable, scalable biogas projects.

Erik Brouwer is an experienced executive with a proven track record in the banking sector. He specializes in risk management, banking, coaching, and financial planning, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with a focus on banking and insurance. Together with Niels, he provides the strategic and operational leadership of SFP Group, leveraging his financial expertise to ensure growth, stability, and innovation.

Mission & Vision

At SFP Group, we don’t just produce biogas. Our multi-stream approach generates value from every residual flow:

  • Green gas (biomethane): upgraded biogas that can be used as sustainable energy.

  • Organic fertilizer: digestate is processed into high-quality fertilizer for agriculture.

  • Bio‑CO₂: CO₂ can be liquefied and used in horticulture and the food industry.

This approach closes local loops and contributes to the energy transition and a circular economy.
